A guided fishing trip is the very best way to get to know Lake Vermillion and learn how to catch the fish you want. We are fortunate to have one of the most experienced Lake Vermilion fishing guides based right at Pehrson Lodge, plus many other experienced guides fishing out of Pehrson Lodge on a daily basis. Guides are on the water every day and know what the fish are doing. They will show you the most productive areas, depths and techniques for each species of fish you wish to target.
Pehrson Lodge Resident Guide
Our on-site fishing guide will help you get you on the fish. Jarek has extensive experience on Lake Vermilion, and it shows. In May 2021, he and Will Hanson were champions of the City Auto Glass Walleye Classic on Lake Vermilion - first place out of 125 boats. They brought in the maximum amount of fish and all with great sizes: a 29 incher, a 27 incher, and four eaters with a total weight of 20.41lb. Nice job, guys!
If you would like to schedule an outing, please contact the Main Office at Pehrson Lodge and we would be happy to help. Vermilion guides are private contractors, so payment is made directly to them, by cash or check.

Jarek was raised with a rod in hand growing up in northern Wisconsin’s Vilas County. His passion for the multi-species angling led him to spend his years traveling to pursue the next trophy. He settled at Lake Vermilion in 2016, and has been guiding at Pehrson Lodge ever since.

Lonnie and Mark can provide a great guided BWCA experience. Trout Lake is a magnificent wilderness lake with a 25hp motor restriction. Trout is known for its lake trout, but it is also an outstanding bass lake and can be a good walleye lake. We can even schedule a split day to fish for bass/walleye for part of the day and switch to downrigger fishing for lakers for the remainder of the day.
